Manage the OS credentials
Available only for Windows unattended devices.
During the installation of unattended access, OS credentials are required to sign in to the unattended device, provided that the corresponding option (Allow sign in to the unattended device without knowing its username and password) is enabled. Once unattended access is installed, you can manage the OS credentials through the SetMe Unattended app. These credentials are stored securely on the remote device and are not transferred anywhere.
Add the OS credentials
- Open the SetMe Unattended app.
- Click Provide credentials.
- Enter valid credentials for the unattended device user and click OK.
By default, the username is set as the current OS user name; however, you have the option to specify another valid username.
Change the OS credentials
- Open the SetMe Unattended app.
- Click Update credentials.
- Enter valid credentials for the unattended device user and click OK.
You may need to update the previously saved credentials if they are outdated (for instance, if the user's password has changed), or if you wish to use the credentials of a different OS user.
Remove the OS credentials
- Open the SetMe Unattended app.
- Click Remove credentials.
After you remove the previously saved credentials, you won't be able to sign in to the unattended device without knowing its username and password.
Uninstall the SetMe Unattended app
Windows
- Open Settings > Apps > Apps and Features.
- Choose SetMe Unattended Agent, then select Uninstall.
The unattended device manager may restrict uninstalling the SetMe Unattended app. In this case, the remote user should contact the manager directly or send a request to the SetMe support team along with a screenshot of the error message that you have received when trying to delete the app.
macOS
- In the Finder menu, click Go > Applications (or open the Applications folder from Dock).
- Right-click the SetMe Unattended icon and select Move to Bin.
