Installation settings

Installation settings allow you to configure the parameters for the SetMe Unattended app installed on the remote device. You can change these settings for a device in any status. However, they will only be applied once the device is in an Online status. The following installation settings are available:

  • Pin (prevent remote user from removing unattended access): displayed in the Pin column of your unattended list. Allows you restrict the remote user from accidentally removing unattended access on their device.
  • Be aware that the remote user will be unable to remove unattended access on their own if this option is selected. Use this setting only on remote devices where you are authorized to make such a decision, and if you are absolutely certain that you will be able to uninstall it upon user request.
  • The remote user may request to uninstall unattended access by contacting our support team who will remove the Unattended app after upon receiving the device manager's consent.
  • This setting is available only for Windows devices.
  • It doesn't prevent you from removing unattended access on a device via the unattended list.

You can specify installation settings when configuring a custom installer or installing unattended access during a support session.

Any changes you make to a device's installation settings will be visible to all users with access to that device.

Configure installation settings when installing unattended access during a support session

1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.

2. Connect to the remote device using a Client ID.

3. In the navigation pane, choose Unattended setup.

4. Click Show unattended access settings and change any options you need under Installation settings.

5. Optional: Configure any other unattended device settings if needed.

6. Click Install unattended access.

As a result, the unattended device you created will have the specified installation settings.

Configure installation settings when creating an unattended access installer

1. Sign in to SetMe Downloads.

2. In the navigation pane, choose Unattended setup.

3. Select an operating system.

4. Change any options you need under Installation settings.

5. Optional: Configure any other unattended device settings if needed.

6. Click the corresponding button to generate the installer.

As a result, the unattended device(s) you create using this installer will have the specified installation settings.

Edit installation settings for an individual device

1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.

2. In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended. Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.

3. Hover over the unattended device that you want to manage and click the Edit icon.

4. Change any settings you need under Installation settings.

5. Click Save.

Edit installation settings for multiple unattended devices

1 Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.

2 In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended. Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.

3 In the unattended list, check the box for each unattended device that you want to manage.

4 On the toolbar, click the button for the installation setting that you want to change.

5 Change any options you need.

6 Click Save.
