In this article:

You are not required to configure device properties. However, they help streamline your work with a large number of unattended devices.

You can specify device properties when configuring a custom installer or installing unattended access during a support session. At a later point, they can also be changed via the unattended device list. You can change device properties regardless of the unattended device's status.

Any changes you make to the unattended device properties will be visible to all users with access to that device.

The following device properties are available:

  • Name: you can specify a descriptive name for the unattended device, which will allow you to quickly identify that device in the unattended list. You can sort the unattended list by device name. It will also be used as the default Session name when connecting to the unattended device.

The unattended device Name differs from the Computer name, which is configured in the device's operating system. You set the Name, while the Computer name is determined by the OS. To view the Computer name, you will need to add the Computer name column to your unattended device list.

  • Folder: each device can only be placed in one folder. You can group, sort, and filter your devices by folder within the unattended list. Folders are also displayed in remote session reports.
  • Tags: each unattended device can be assigned with one or multiple tags. You can sort and filter your devices by tags within the unattended list.
  • Description: specify a random description for each unattended device.
