Manage the unattended device list
The unattended device list allows you to view the available unattended devices and their current state, connect to them, change properties, manage access permissions, and remove them. On top of that, you can export or print your unattended device list.
After unattended access is installed on the remote device, it will be added to your unattended list. The list will also display any unattended devices created by another user in your organization provided that you have access to them.
At the bottom of your list you will see a breakdown summary of the currently displayed unattended devices.

Open the unattended device list
You can open the unattended list from the SetMe Expert console or browser. The unattended list allows you to manage your unattended devices and view information about their current state.
- In the Expert console, the unattended list lets you connect to your unattended devices. However, you cannot print or export the list.
- The browser version allows you to print and export your list in CSV. However, you won't be able to connect to your unattended devices.
Open via the SetMe Expert console
- Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
- In the navigation bar at the top of the window, select Unattended.
Open via browser
- In your browser, open SetMe unattended devices.
Change list view
You can choose the way you want to view the unattended device list by selecting a corresponding tab under the toolbar.
The following list view options are available:
- All (default): displays all currently available unattended devices.
- Favorites: displays all unattended devices saved as favorites.
- Hover over a specific device within the list and click the Star icon to save it to Favorites.
- To remove a device from Favorites, hover over that device and click the highlighted Star icon.
- Recent: displays the last 20 unattended devices that you have recently connected to.
View information about unattended devices
The unattended list provides you with all the information you may need about the available devices:
- Name: the unattended device's name which allows you to identify it among other devices.
The same name will also appear as the default Session name when connecting to the unattended device.
If you need to view the remote device's Computer name as specified in its OS settings, add the Computer name column to your list view.
- Folder: the Folder where the unattended device is included.
- Access: displays the currently selected shared access option for the unattended device. Additional information is available in the tooltip.
- Manager: full name and login email of the unattended device's manager. If you're the device manager, you will see "Me" displayed in this column.
- Status: the current state of the unattended device, which helps determine if a connection is possible.
- Last status change: the date and time when the unattended device switched to its current status.
- Activity: indicates if the remote user is currently using the device. Available only for unattended devices that have an Online status.
- Signed-in user: an OS user account that's currently signed in to the remote device. If no user is signed in, the Signed out value is displayed. If the remote device is currently on the lock screen, the Locked value is displayed. Additional information is available in the tooltip. Available only for unattended devices that are in Online status.
- Up time: indicates when the remote device was last booted. Available only for unattended devices that are in Online status and have Idle Activity value.
- Last active: the date and time when the remote device was actively used.
- OS: the remote device's operating system. Additional information is available in the tooltip.
- Computer name: the remote device's computer name as specified in its system settings.
- IP address: a public IP address of the remote device.
- Location: information about the geographic location of the remote device (country, region, city) based on its public IP address.
- Description: custom description of the unattended device.
- Tags: the list of tags for the unattended device; tags are added to make it easier for you to find a specific device within your unattended list.
- Installed on: the date and time when unattended access was installed on the remote device.
- Last connected: the date and time of the last connection to the unattended device, which may include connections performed by other users in your organization that have access to that device.
- Prompt: indicates if the unattended connection request has been configured. Additional information is available in the tooltip.
- Pinned: indicates whether the remote user is restricted from removing unattended access.
- Hidden: indicates if the SetMe Unattended app automatically hides on session start.
- Lock: indicates if the remote device is automatically locked on session end.
Some columns are hidden by default. You can customize the list view by manually selecting which columns to display.
Toolbar
The toolbar is located at the top of the unattended device list. It allows you to perform key actions with an individual or multiple unattended devices:
- Select an individual or multiple unattended devices from the list.
- Click the corresponding action button on the toolbar. The following actions are available:
- Connect: connect to the selected unattended device(s). Note that at least one of them must be online. This feature is available only in the SetMe Expert console.
- Folder: change the folder for the selected unattended device(s). Leave the Folder field blank to remove unattended devices from their current folder.
- Tags: change tags for the selected unattended device(s). Press Enter after each tag to add multiple tags.
- Description: change the description for the selected unattended device(s).
- Access: change access permissions for the selected unattended device(s). This feature is available only for device managers and administrators. Available only with SetMe Professional and higher-tier plans.
- Manager: change the manager for the selected unattended device(s). This feature is available only for device managers and administrators. Available only with SetMe Professional and higher-tier plans.
- Session settings: change session settings for the selected unattended device(s).
- Pin/unpin: restrict or allow the remote user to remove unattended access from their device.
- Delete: remove the selected unattended device(s). This feature is available only for device managers and administrators.
Use the Refresh button to get the most recent data about your unattended device. You can see the time of the last refresh under the toolbar.
The following additional actions are accessible via the browser:
- Export: save the unattended device list as a CSV file.
- Print: print the unattended device list.
Select multiple unattended devices
You can select multiple unattended devices from the list to perform the same action for all of them simultaneously using the toolbar. To select a specific unattended device, check the box next to it. You can also select all unattended devices at once by checking the box at the top of the list.
If a filter is currently applied, only filtered unattended devices can be selected.
When grouping is enabled, you can select all unattended devices within a group by checking the box next to its name.
Customize list view
You can easily customize how the unattended list is displayed by:
Add or remove columns
You can manually select which columns are displayed within the unattended list.
- Open the unattended list.
- Click Select columns.
- You will see a list of available columns. Check the boxes next to the columns you want to display and uncheck the boxes for columns you want to hide.
To select all of the available columns, check the box at the top of the list.
Click Reset to default layout to revert to the original layout.
Rearrange columns
You can rearrange the unattended list's column order by clicking and dragging the column header to the right or left. To revert to the original column layout, click Reset to default.
Sort columns
Click the column header to sort the unattended list based on the selected column content.
An icon next to the column name shows which column is being sorted and in which direction.
Grouping columns
You can group your unattended devices by a certain parameter.
For instance, Grouping by status enables you to assemble unattended devices that have an Online status into one category, while those labeled as Offline can be placed into a separate group.
To enable grouping, click the Select grouping field and select one of the following grouping options from the dropdown list:
- Group by Folder: unattended devices are grouped by folder. Any devices that are not included in a folder, will be placed into a separate group at the top of the unattended list.
- Group by Status: unattended devices are grouped by status. Any devices that are currently available for connection will be placed into the Online group at the top of the list.
- Group by Access: unattended devices are grouped based on their shared access settings. Available only with SetMe Professional and higher-tier plans.
- Group by OS: unattended devices are grouped based on their operating system version.
- Group by Last connected: unattended devices are grouped by last connection time.
- Group by Installed on: unattended devices are grouped by the time when unattended access installation was performed.
- Group by Last status change: unattended devices are grouped by last status change.
- Group by Manager: unattended devices are grouped by their respective managers. The group of devices that you manage will be placed at the top of the list. Available only with SetMe Professional and higher-tier plans.
To disable grouping, click x in the Group by field.
You can also sort columns within groups, as well as expand and collapse an individual device group or all groups at once.
Search and filter data
You can quickly find a device within your unattended list using filters. Below the toolbar, you will find the filter fields where you can input values for your search. The following filters are available:
- Filter: display unattended devices that contain the entered text in any of the fields.
- Folder: display unattended devices included in the specified folder(s). You can filter by folder provided that at least 1 unattended device within your list has been placed into a folder.
- Tag: display unattended devices associated with at least 1 of the specified tags. You can filter by tags provided that at least 1 unattended device within your list has a tag.
- Manager: display unattended devices with the selected manager(s). You can filter by manager when there is at least 1 unattended device within your list that's managed by another user. Available only with SetMe Professional and higher-tier plans.
- Status: display unattended devices with the selected status.
You can use several filters at the same time. To reset the applied filters, click Clear filter.
