Access options
Access options are only available with SetMe Professional and higher-tier plans.
You can change access options when multiple agents in your organization require access to the same unattended devices. Access options can be changed by the unattended device manager or any user with an Administrator role.
Agents with shared access to a device can:
- View the device in their unattended list
- Connect to the unattended device
- Edit the unattended device settings
Users with an Administrator role have full access to all unattended devices in the organization. Having full access allows administrators to:
- View the device in their unattended list
- Connect to the unattended device
- Edit the unattended device settings
- Select a new manager for the unattended device
- Change access options
- Remove the unattended device
It's not possible to share access to an unattended device with users on different subscriptions.
Access options are displayed as an icon in the Access column of the unattended list. Additional information is available in the tooltip that can be opened by hovering over the icon.
The following access options are available:
- Only I can see and access the unattended device: only the device manager and administrators have access to the unattended device. Users assigned with Agent roles cannot see or access the device.
- Any agent can see and access the unattended device: apart from the device manager and administrators, all agents have access to the unattended device.
If you have access to a device that's managed by another user, you'll notice a special icon the Access column of your unattended list. Additional information is available in the tooltip that can be opened by hovering over the icon.
Ways to configure access options
Configure access options when installing unattended access during a support session
- Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
- Connect to the remote device using a Client ID.
- In the SetMe Expert console, open the Unattended access tab.
- Click Edit under Access options.
- Select the preferred access option.
- Click Save.
- Optional: Change any other unattended access settings if needed.
- Click Install unattended access.
The newly created unattended device will have the specified access setting.
Configure access options when creating an unattended installer
- Sign in to SetMe Downloads.
- In the navigation pane, choose Unattended setup.
- Select the desired operating system.
- Click Edit next to Access options.
- Select the preferred access option.
- Click Save.
- Optional: Change any other unattended access settings if needed.
- Click the corresponding button to generate the installer.
Any unattended devices created using the installer will share the selected access option.
Edit access options
Edit access options for an individual device
- Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
- In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended. Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.
- In your unattended list, hover over the unattended device, open the options menu and select Manage access. Note: this menu is available only for device managers and administrators.
- Select the preferred access option.
- Click Save.
Edit access options for multiple unattended devices
- Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
- In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended. Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.
- In your unattended list, check the boxes next to each unattended devices that you want to manage.
- On the toolbar, click Access. Note: this menu is available only for device managers and administrators.
- Select the preferred access option.
- Click Save.
