Device manager

The unattended device manager is a user who has full access to a device and can perform any actions with it. Both Agents and Administrators can be unattended device managers.
Unattended device managers can:
- View the device in their unattended list
- Connect to the unattended device
- Edit the unattended device settings
- Select a new manager for the unattended device
- Change access options
- Remove the unattended device
Administrators have full access to all unattended devices in your organization.
You can become the unattended device manager in the following scenarios:
- You have installed unattended access on a device during a remote support session.
- You have generated a custom installer and set up unattended access on a device using that installer.
- You have been assigned a manager role.
The unattended device manager is displayed in the Manager column of the unattended device list.
To view all of the unattended devices you manage, group your list by Manager. The devices you manage will be placed under Me at the top of your unattended list.
If an administrator wants to remove a user who manages any unattended devices, they must first ensure that this user is no longer their manager. There are to ways to achieve this:
- Remove all unattended devices associated with that manager.
- Select a new manager for those unattended devices.
Change manager for an individual device
1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
2. In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended.
Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.
3. In your unattended list, hover over the unattended device, open the options menu and select Change manager.
The Change manager menu is available only for device managers and administrators.
4. In the New manager list, select a new manager for the unattended device.
5. Click Save.
6. Make sure that you selected the right user, then click Confirm.
As the device manager, be aware that if the remote computer is currently not enabled for shared access and you're not assigned with the Administrator role, you will lose access to this machine immediately after choosing a new manager and confirming the operation.
Change manager for multiple unattended devices
1 Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
2 In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended.
Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.
3 In your unattended list, check the boxes next to each device that you want to manage.
4 On the toobar, click Manager.
The Manager button is available only for managers of the selected unattended devices and administrators.
4. In the New manager list, select a new manager for the unattended device.
5. Click Save.
6. Make sure that you selected the right user, then click Confirm.
As the device manager, be aware that if the remote computer is currently not enabled for shared access and you're not assigned with the Administrator role, you will lose access to this machine immediately after choosing a new manager and confirming the operation.
